The Switch

The Switch advantages in solar power

We offer a range of excellent features to guarantee outstanding performance for utility-scale solar power systems.

Fault ride-through functionality

The Sun Switch supports the latest industry grid standards for symmetrical and asymmetrical FRT functionality. This results in reliable and stable grid interaction, similar to that of conventional power generation resources. It ensures excellent fault tolerance and grid support for stable and high-quality electricity.

Active and reactive power control

Using the MPPT feature, The Sun Switch automatically controls and maximizes the amount of active power injected into the grid. To support FRT functionality, we provide advanced reactive power injection that includes the capability for power factor and voltage control.

Frequency regulation support

To prevent over-frequency situations due to a weak grid and low energy consumption, our inverters include frequency regulation support. This ensures extremely high grid stability.

Power saving mode

The power saving mode effectively reduces standby power consumption to less than 100 W when the inverter is not in operation. The Sun Switch autonomously initiates operation and begins power production as soon as solar power becomes available.

Built-in diagnostics

Robust, built-in features for monitoring, diagnosing, data logging and reporting ensure peak performance and system availability. Operators receive diagnostic information in real time on a touch screen. And the  information can be directed to any remote control center.

Customized array interface

The Switch creates solutions that interface with a wide range of PV cell technologies, such as silicon PV, thin-film and multi-junction cell technologies.

International standard compliance

The Sun Switch complies with the latest industry and international standards, and supports all interconnection requirements for distributed generation resources, such as UL-1741 and IEEE 1547. EMC emissions and harmonic injection are well within the limits established by IEC, UL and IEEE.
