The Switch designs and manufactures tailor-made permanent magnet (PM) machines for a range of motor and generator applications. High motor torque, which can be smoothly controlled, is guaranteed throughout the drive speed range – even at the lowest speeds. Power range extends to 5 MW and the speed range to 6000 rpm. The Switch also designs and manufactures high-speed PM machines.
The integrated design of The Switch PM machines has been carefully developed for both efficiency and adaptability in different applications. In the case of outer rotor motors used in conveyers, the entire motor is assembled inside the driving roll. In pump and blower applications, the motor may be directly integrated onto the equipment shaft, a solution that completely eliminates the need to align mechanical couplings and axes.

We have designed and built machines covering a wide power range. Our largest generators are 3 MW, 17 rpm, direct-driven units. We have also constructed PM machines in the lower power range (<100 kW) and up to 20,000 rpm.
