The Switch designs and manufactures high-speed induction machines that incorporate a sophisticated solid rotor construction and special stator technology. Together these guarantee high motor efficiency.

Our high-speed technology involves the use of electrical rather than mechanical gearboxes. This additionally allows full speed control of the system. Our speed control provides high efficiency even under partial load conditions. For speed control in high-speed applications, The Switch uses tailor-made frequency converters.

By integrating a high-speed electric motor with the load machinery, The Switch saves both space and weight for the overall system. Therefore, the system is more economical in terms of energy consumption.

Added stability

Solid rotors are used to maintain rotor stability in all applications while producing a construction strong enough to tolerate high centrifugal forces.

A solid rotor construction gives better mechanical strength and provides superior performance in avoiding unbalanced vibrations. It is the most stable type of rotor available, as it can maintain its balance effectively.

Power range 300 – 1000 kW

Higher speeds are possible using different bearing constructions. The technology is scaleable up to tens of megawatts. Machines capable of operating outside these ranges are also available on request.
