As Schuler Group continues its strong advance into the wind power market, the company has placed an order with The Switch for two direct-driven 3 MW drive trains. The custom-built The Switch Drive permanent magnet generator and full-power converter prototype packages are scheduled for delivery and testing in April 2011.

Large-scale production cooperation takes off in China

The Switch and its Chinese partner Dongfang Electrical Machinery Co. Ltd (DFEM) are kicking off cooperation in mass production for wind power with 2.2 MW permanent magnet (PM) generators. The production will take place in DFEM's new factory, which boasts an impressive manufacturing capacity of 5,000 MWs per year.

Second order for Dong Fang; first collaboration with Moventas

The Switch has signed a new agreement with Dong Fang for a 3 MW drive train to be designed in collaboration with Finland-based Moventas, who will deliver the gear solution for the turbine. The aim is to optimize the entire package for Dong Fang to sell to the Chinese market.
