Creating synergy with Yaskawa, VIPA, Profichip and partners

The Switch attended the SPS IPC Drives Italia exhibition in Parma, Italy from May 24 to 26 as part of the Yaskawa stand. This exhibition is now being held annually as an offshoot of the original German exhibition, the leading event for industrial automation suppliers and producers, which has been held for over the past 20 years. The popularity of SPS Italia has been growing steadily over the years since it started with more visitors and exhibitors each year.

Giulio Martorelli represented The Switch and our complete turbo drive package at the stand. In his opinion, being part of the exhibition stand was a great way to develop synergy and interaction within Yaskawa and its partners.

“It was very crowded this year because there are many industries dealing with drives, motion, automation and robotics in the region of Parma, Italy,” he says. “SPS visitors to the Yaskawa stand were interested in our approach for very high speed applications, which include a gearless and integrated solution.”

Giulio was very pleased to also have The Switch be present at this particular fair because it gives the company and our solutions more visibility in the industrial market.

“I feel it’s a good time to introduce this market to a brand-new solution that provides exceptional energy efficiency and lower costs through simplicity. This is thanks to the fact that the gearbox has be eliminated, and we can now offer adjustable speed for all turbo applications,” he says.

“Our complete turbo drive package has nearly a decade of field-proven results to work in applications running up to 15,000 rpm. It can be delivered in units up to 12 MW with shaft heights of 315, 355 or 400. The simplicity alone makes it an ingenious solution for all demanding high-speed applications. And obviously, I’m eager to see it become a big success in my home country of Italy, too,” Giulio smiles.
