“The year of 2013 remained sluggish in wind power generation, the main area of focus for The Switch. The first-time market drop continued to drag on for an unexpectedly long period. Still, wind turbine technology as a whole continued to mature and companies became more active with even larger multi-megawatt-rated turbines.
The highlight of the year for The Switch was undoubtedly being chosen to supply the permanent magnet generator (PMG) for an 8.6 MW turbine, the world’s largest offshore giant. This demonstrates that new technology is needed for bigger and better turbines.”
